Applying Cooperative Care Techniques

In this follow-up members meeting, we discussed the application of cooperative care techniques to real-life situations. In the Introduction to Cooperative Care Techniques, we discussed how teaching your dog what to expect through predictor cues can help minimize distress during handling. We explored ‘consent’ in dogs, identified ‘choice’ vs. ‘no choice’ moments during handling, and learned how to determine when you should not push your dog during grooming or at the vet.
