Teaching your dog to turn on cue can be helpful for getting distance from a variety of things - dogs, people, your grandmother who won't listen when you tell her to leave the dog alone (HA). It is simultaneously an exposure management skill and a training skill. You'd be surprised how quickly your dog will stop reacting to triggers when you teach them to move away from triggers all on their own!
